MY INITIAITIVE STARTED SHAPING IN A MISSION / MOKSHADA CHOUDHARY

In an effort to bridge the gap between opportunity and talent in underprivileged communities, I launched the *Fence the Future* initiative, which aims to provide access to fencing and other sports for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. As a national-level fencer and Reserve No. 1 for the Asian Fencing Championship, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of sports. Through this initiative, I aim to offer these children not only physical and mental development but also a chance to cultivate discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Since its inception, *Fence the Future* has gained momentum, and it recently received a notable feature in *The Times of India*. This publication has brought awareness to the project, highlighting the positive impact it is having on the lives of these children. The initiative started with workshops in government schools and slums, where fencing was introduced to children who had never been exposed to the sport. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and growing skill sets have been incredibly inspiring.

Thanks to support from local businesses and volunteers, the initiative has expanded, providing essential equipment and coaching to the participants. Several children have already begun competing in local tournaments, showcasing great potential. The recognition by *The Times of India* has been a significant milestone, helping to raise awareness of the importance of sports as a vehicle for social change and empowerment.

Looking ahead, I plan to further develop *Fence the Future* by establishing a more structured training program. My vision is to nurture and guide talent from these communities to reach state and national levels in fencing and other sports, ultimately giving them the opportunity to succeed both on and off the field.
